Greetings from San Jacinto County

Tuesday night, January 20, 2009, the Republican Executive Committee had its monthly meeting and Chairman Horace Wright turned in his resignation. The first order of business was to elect a new Chairman. I was nominated for the position.  The executive committee voted and I was unanimously accepted as the new Party Chairman.

I would like to take this time to say thank you to all of the Precinct Chairmen who voted for me and to the other non-members of the committee who were there to show support. I want you all to know that I take this honor and responsibility very seriously, and I pledge to the Party to give 110%. I will do my part to help the party grow and to make San Jacinto County a better place to live. I have a great executive committee behind me and they have given me their support. We will work together with the rest of the experienced non-committee members to put the San Jacinto Republican Party on the map. This is indeed a very exciting time to be in our party.

I would also like to announce that the price of the tickets to the First Annual Lincoln Breakfast with Congressman Kevin Brady (held at Elaine's in Coldspring) will be $20 for a regular seat and $30 for a seat at the table with the Congressman. Seating with Kevin Brady will be limited, and the tickets will go on sale starting Wednesday, January 28, 2009.  Seating is limited to 75 total. The $20 tickets will be available for purchase at Elaine's Restaurant in Coldspring where the event will be held February 28 at 9:00 a.m.  More information will follow as it becomes available.

I would like to invite all of you to come to the next Republican Club meeting. I will remain on as club president for now, but if anyone is interested in the position, please contact me, or Betty Westbrook, or John Barna-Lloyd. Executive Committee meetings are also held at Elaine's and they are open to you all as well. I encourage everyone to show up.

I am very excited to be the new Chairman and am ready to accept the challenges that come with it. If anyone has any questions to ask me, please feel free to contact me by email.

Thank you all.

Todd Pegoda

I reflect and remember:

All gave some

And some gave all;

Some stood through

For the red, white and blue;

And some had to fall.

And if you ever think of me,

Think of all your liberties

And recall,

Some gave all.
